These are Federal Circuit decisions reversing part of the judgment below while leaving the remainder in place. Partial reversal reflects the composite nature of a patent judgment: infringement, validity, damages, and willfulness are decided separately and reviewed separately, so an appellate court may reject one determination while sustaining the others. The result is frequently a remand limited to the reversed issue - a new trial on damages alone, for example, with liability settled. The scope of what was reversed, and what consequently remains binding on remand, is set out in the concluding section of the opinion. Reading that section first is usually the quickest way to see what the judgment now holds.
